So why is poor Larry Gordon so “wicked tired?” Here’s why:
After Obama won his second term of presidency, gun sales rose, the number of first time weapons carriers rose, and the number of people applying for a carrying permit rose as well. So what triggered this explosion in gun sales? What has caused gun prices to shoot up? Why are Americans loading up on guns?
During the presidential debates, President Obama made clear that he would pursue an assault weapons ban. Second amendment activists see this as just a first step towards wider gun control regulation. These Americans, afraid of Anti-Gun laws and weapons taxes and feeling defensive as a result of their loss on election night, are stocking up. The stock of Smith & Wesson, a popular gun maker, is up more than 140% this year.
Gun sales made a similar rise after the 2008 election. Four years later, fears appear to have been unfounded. But many Americans fear that Obama will do in his second term that which he failed to accomplish in his first. And they will not be unarmed.
